Alright, I’m a total Cure fag. I fucking love these guys. I will say, however that I am confused at their new singles they’ve been releasing.
Freakshow is alright. It’s noisy and quirky, but the song kind of misses the point. But this is the best choice for their first single from their upcoming album on October 28th entitled 4:13 Dream. The b-side “All Kinds of Stuff” is pretty bad ass and very reminiscent of my favorite era of The Cure, Wish. From listening to all the singles (Perfect Boy, Sleep When I’m Dead, and The Only One) it seems as though Robert Smith and co. are feeling retrospective of their very, very long career.
