Before Jane’s Addiction there was Psi-Com. Perry Farrell was living with bassist Kelly Wheeler and “Jane” when he joined up with them.
Their music was something quite different. The sound had a neo-gothic feel with a rock n roll edge, which nobody had been able to successfully achieve at this time. Bands like the Damned, Christian Death, and Bauhaus had gotten close, but Psi-Com nailed it. The best thing about this EP is Perry Farrell’s growth as a singer. You can almost hear it through the album.
